Victorian Walnut and Parquetry Inlaid Sewing & Writing Box, Dated 1876 – Antique Walnut Work Box with Mother of Pearl Cartouche blue plate 🌿 Strong and structurally soundA beautifully made Victorian walnut and parquetry inlaid sewing and writing box, dated 1876 and engraved with the initials E. L. on a mother of pearl hexagonal cartouche. The richly figured walnut veneer is decorated with geometric parquetry and cross banded stringing in exotic woods, showing the fine craftsmanship of late 19th century English box making. The hinged lid opens to reveal a fitted interior with lift out tray, lined in ivory silk and blue
