1970s Red Top Stich Jean Muir Jersey Sold I love the gathered detailing

I love the gathered detailing at the front and the way the skirt is cut so it falls in softly rounded folds

A wonderful little 1940s dress in a deep chocolate silky rayon that has little medallions scattered over it from top to bottom

The dress skims over the body and flows to an A-line

There is one teeny nick to the top layer of fabric on one sleeve - it looks at first glance to be a slub in the fabric but is there

You will often see shawls from this period and the occasional dress

1970s Red Top Stich Jean Muir Jersey Sold I love the gathered detailingJean Muir is renowned for her cut and use of fluid flowing jerseys. This dress is a classic example of that aesthetic. It a fabulous pink based red (I honestly can't decide if it is a red or a pink) weightless jersey that moves like nothing else. The top is cut in a simple fashion until you hit the waist at which point there is a sewn in waist band that is seamed and top stitched to create both visual interest and to display her trademark detailing.
