They showed us how they wove their huipils on a backstrap loom when we visited their village and explained how they worked together as a cooperatively to make Mayan Hands products

Ends of panels are somewhat different lengths with one side selvage edges and other open fringe

in very good condition

The bottom of the panels have short fringe

Hand embroidered also around of the neck hole. The base material was probably made on a floor loom. The huipils sides are closed with an attractive thin randa that was probably machine embroidered. Purchased from Tomesa and made by her or a family member. Condition: Good used. Panel ends are even and have stitching to reinforce.
